MacQuarrie Field

MacQuarrie Field

MacQuarrie Field is the athletic field located between Ramsey Middle School and the Commons in front of Washburn. It is named after A.E. MacQuarrie, the first Principal of Washburn High School. In 1984, a concession building, new bleachers, and a new track were added. Lights were installed on the field in 1986. The Commons has been the site of many activities, such as school picnics, class parties, graduation events, and class reunions. For a number of years, the first pepfest of each school year was held on the Commons. The poplar trees lining the west side of MacQuarrie Field are a Washburn tradition.
