For the 2016-2017 school year I will be teaching 4 sections of Honors Chemistry and 1 section of Physical Science. I have a B.A.(History) from Amherst College, a B.S.(Chemistry) from the University of Massachusetts, and a M.A.T. from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ.
I taught for 7 years at Martin Luther King Jr.-High School in New York City, and 5 years at Benjamin Banneker in Minneapolis before coming to Washburn. I have taught at Washburn since 1997.
I believe that every student that comes to me has the inherent ability to learn what I teach. It may take one student more time than another to learn the difficult principles of chemistry, but with help and personal motivation any student can learn. My strength as a teacher is that besides being very knowlegeable of my subject, I love being a part of the lives of the students I teach. I am patient, caring, and willing to help them in any way that I can. Please feel free to contact me for whatever reason. Email is the preferred mode of communication, but you can also call me after school if necessary.
