I teach Physical Science, Chemistry, and Advanced Placement Chemistry. I have a B.A. from Amherst College, a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts, and a M.A.T. from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I taught for 7 years at Martin Luther King Jr.-High School in New York City, and 5 years at Benjamin Banneker in Minneapolis before coming to Washburn. I have taught at Washburn since 1997.
I believe that every student that comes to me has the inherent ability to learn what I teach. It may take one student more time than another to learn the difficult principles of chemistry, but with help and personal motivation any student can learn. Also, my personal philosophy is that it is better for a student to learn in depth than in breadth, i.e., it is better to know what you know than to simply say what you have seen and know nothing about.
