What is the Miller Soccer Booster Club? The Miller Soccer Booster Club is a volunteer organization with the mission of supporting the tradition of a high quality soccer program at Washburn High School (WHS). The Miller Soccer Booster Club raises funds to support the activities of all WHS boys’ soccer teams. Boosters collect player/family dues, conduct community fundraisers and solicit private donations to support program activities. In addition, the Miller Soccer Booster Club supports the coaches and athletes, on and off the field. Boosters maintain the WHS boys’ soccer website, document games in pictures, and organize team social events.
Why do we need a Booster Club? The school district funds only the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams and even this is done at a minimal level. There are no district funds to pay for B-squad coaches. To develop and maintain a strong soccer tradition at WHS, money is needed to hire coaches and referees for one or two B-squads as well as to augment the Varsity and JV coaching staff. Miller Soccer Booster Club funds are also used to purchase equipment for the teams as well as to provide food for student athletes and their families at the kick-off picnic and year-end banquet.
We Need You to become a Member of the Miller Soccer Booster Club. We ask each family of a Washburn Boys Soccer player to become a Member of the Miller Soccer Booster Club. The suggested annual fee is $100. Miller Soccer Booster Club membership is the single biggest source of revenue for the WHS Boys Soccer Program. Additional donations are greatly appreciated. However, no student athlete will be denied the opportunity to play if this fee is not paid. Please make a contribution at the Picnic or at fall sports registration if at all possible as the team has immediate needs!!!
