Art Department

Washburn's VISUAL ART DEPARTMENT is for students who wish to develop their visual art skills in a supportive, rigorous environment.  With a dedicated teaching staff and the support of the artistic community, students  may pursue areas of interest including: drawing, painting, ceramics and African Art with a general course called Studio Art as a prerequisite

Students will graduate with a broad range of experience and the skills necessary to succeed in post secondary studies.

Washburn students worked in collaboration with Health Partners Cancer Care Center to exhibit 20 works of art for the 350 clients that sit in their room waiting for treatment. They also made "Wellness" trading cards that were set aside in a bowl for any clients needing support. The work will be exhibited there for the next 3 months.

Thank you Carol Jirik for your help with frames, framing, hanging the show and the open house. It is wonderful!
