Welcome to Dramatic Performance!
Dramatic Performance is about each student having the opportunity to develop your artistic voice, through performance, poetry, writing, and visual arts. We will create and perform original theatre that reflects YOUR ideas, your experience, your goals and hopes for this world.
Expectations for Intro to Performance: What I expect from students:
RESPECT: Work to create a safe space in our classroom. Collaboration is the foundation of all work in class. We will engage in team building activities to create and maintain an atmosphere of safe space and mutual respect.
Enthusiastic Participation!: You will be on your feet participating in theatre activities designed to encourage the power in imagination and the value of your creative voice. Theatre is not learned in a book- it is learned by doing!
Master Beginning Level Theatre Skills: Students will be introduced to improvisation, script work, character development, vocal projection, relaxation techniques, playwriting, poetry, stage design, and a variety of skills that enhance creativity, self-discipline, and cultural awareness.
Learn from professionals: Guest artists, playwrights, actors, poets, & choreographers enrich class and give students a unique opportunity to work with professionals. Students are expected to work cooperatively with all guest artists and visitors.
