I have been at Washburn since 2002.  Previously, I worked at Roosevelt from 1984-1992 and Anwatin Middle School from 1992 to 2002.  I will be working with 11th and 12th graders  and our students in the WRAP program.   I really enjoy working with the students and their families on a variety of issues.

First of all, I attend all the IEP meetings; I file truancy petitions with juvenile court and I fill out all kinds of verification forms (social security, economic assitance, housing, child support.)  The best part of my job is to help students who are in crisis to make a plan that helps them succeed in life-do lots of interventions with a variety of community resources (example-Project Solo, The Bridge etc.

My personal story is that I graduated from St. Francis High School in Honolulu.  I received a Bachelor of Arts (in social work) from Michigan State University and a Masters in Social Work from University of Michigan.  I was also a National Insitute of Mental Health Fellow back in grad school.  I went to 17 different schools before I was a junior in high school because my father was in the military.  I try to be nice to new students!  I have two daughters who just graduated from college this year; I have 5 siblings who live across the country.  This means I do travel around to visit them.  Feel free to call me at 6683486.  I also like the students to directly visit with me but usually the parents know what's going on.
