I have taught biology and marine ecology at Washburn High School since 1998. My degree is in biology education from the University of Minnesota.  I have 87 graduate credits in science and education.  I am a certified Aquanaut through the Teacher in the Sea Program after living underwater for 27 hours at the Key Largo Marine Lab site.

Education is the foundation of our society and my job is to light the fire of exploration in all of my students.

My wife and I live in South Minneapolis with our dog, cats, birds, fish, turtle, and tortoise.  I love canoing the BWCAW, fishing, bicycling, and reading voraciously.  Baseball is the best of all sports, and I am so old school I believe Gil Scott-Heron is the real original rapper.
