9th Grade mentees visit St. Olaf College

The St. Olaf ETS Mentor Program pairs about 65 9th-grade students at Washburn High School with a St. Olaf College student mentor. St. Olaf students serve as college role models and writing coaches for the students throughout the year. This year, Mr. Forstner's 3 9th grade

Mentors and Mentees visit the Mill City Museum

classes will be participating in the program.

Through weekly letter writing and assignment changes, students receive feedback on their writing skills and information about college. Three times during the academic year, mentors and students meet face to face on program sponsored visits.

St. Olaf Mentors visit Washburn

In the fall, St. Olaf mentors visit Washburn for the day. In the winter, the group meets at the Mill City Museum. In the spring, Washburn students visit their mentors at St. Olaf College.

ETS Advisors and Washburn teachers oversee all letter exchanges and field trips.
