Course Descriptions and Registration Information
This booklet is designed for students and families. The courses that will be offered for the 2011-2012 school year are described in detail. This information is provided to assist students and parents in creating a four-year program that will prepare students for work and college. It is recommended that students consider rigorous courses with an academic focus in order to be appropriately prepared for post high school opportunities.
The courses listed in this booklet are offered on an annual basis. If something is not listed, it will not be offered. Elective offerings depend on student selection. The master schedule will be built based on student requests and requirements. This is why it is extremely important that we receive accurate information from students.
Please check prerequisites for advanced courses that you may wish to take and seek the advice of your parents/guardians, school counselors, and teachers. Although the responsibility for knowing and completing your requirements is ultimately yours, these people can help you make wise choices.
It is also important that you check with your counselor regarding your credit status, testing requirements and/or My Life Plan graduation requirements as you consider your course options. Remember also, that high school provides you with opportunities to explore areas of interest at no cost to you. You are encouraged to challenge yourself to be exceptionally well prepared for life beyond high school.
Because we are building a schedule based on student requests at registration, be careful to register properly. Class changes after final registration are rarely granted. If you have questions or concerns about any of this information, please check with your school counselor.
