I'm thrilled to be returning for a third year at Washburn. For the 2018-2019 school year, I will be teaching IB SL and HL Spanish, Years 1 & 2. I'm also thrilled to be a new mom, and will be on maternity leave until mid-November. E-mail is the best way to reach me: Meghan.Bot-Miller@mpls.k12.mn.us

When I was in high school, I thought Spanish was the only language of interest to me. I studied it during college, spending time in Peru, Chile, Nicaragua and Costa Rica as an undergraduate student, and returned to Chile after college, where I completed a Master’s in Contemporary Hispanic American Literature at the Universidad Austral, in Valdivia. When I was “forced” to study Portuguese for further graduate studies, however, I discovered a love of language learning that just keeps growing. I’m currently working on Lithuanian, my husband’s first language.

Teaching is a way of life I joyfully choose, and it is my hope that students may experience the joy of learning in Spanish class.
