School Social Worker (9th, 12th, ASD)

Hello!

I am the new school social worker for 9th grade, 12th grade, and the Autism (ASD) program. I am so excited to join the Washburn community! My office is on the 3rd floor in 312E. Please stop by, call, or email me-- I love to connect with students and families.

I completed my Master's in Social Work (MSW) degree at the University of Minnesota and attended Macalester College for my bachelor's. I am a licensed graduate social worker (LGSW) with the MN Board of Social Work, and I also hold a license in School Social Work with the MN Department of Education.

I am here to support students and families and will help in whatever way I can. I encourage students who are dealing with homelessness, LGBTQ+*, violence, chemical use, mental health, family, and/or other issues to connect with me. I can also reach out to a student that family or friends are concerned about. I will work both individually and collaboratively to support students, families, and the learning community.            (*lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, questioning, and more).

I look forward to a wonderful school year full of learning, growth, and supportive relationships!

-Ms. G
