I have been teaching at Washburn High School since 2007. Before teaching here, I taught at Watershed High School, a charter school in South Minneapolis, for 4 years.

I have a passion for connecting teens to art that is in their every day lives. I utilize Minneapolis' active arts community such as traveling to museums and having guest artists and performers. If you are an artist, or know of an artist, and you want to be involved in my classes please contact me by email.

Mandalas

Students studied the Sand Mandala at the MIA and learned about some of its symbols and about how Tibetan monks make them out of sand and soon after they make them, the mandalas are destroyed.

Students also made their own sand mandalas as a temporary homage to the Tibetan people.
