Congratulations to the following National Merit Semi-finalists and Commended Students! More Washburn students were recognized this year then in any year in the past. 
National Merit Semi-Finalists: Lily Endo, Julia Morse, Luke Peichel, and Patricia Thorson.
National Merit Commended Students: Maddie Boesen, Charlotte Devaughn, Wyatt DeYoung, Quin Genrich, Quinn Ingram, Kaj Johnson, Henry Laird, Audrey Mitchell, Alison Thorson.
Semi-Finalists are in the top 1% and Commended Students are in the top 3% nationally based on the PSAT test.
National Honor Society Applications 2017

National Honor Society is now accepting applications. If you have a passion for community service, leadership qualities, and a 3.2 GPA, please consider applying! You can print the application online or see Ms. Pederson in room 106B for a copy. Applications are due Sept 30th! Picture Retake Day is Mon, Oct. 9

Picture re-takes will be happening Monday October 9, 2017 in the Auditorium between 7:45 and 1:00. If you had pictures taken on picture day you MUST bring back the original package if you want retakes. If you are having them done for the first time, order forms will be available in the main office or you can order online at Please take advantage of the before school and during lunch hours. MAP Testing begins Sept. 18

All 9th grade students will be taking the MAP test in reading and math starting September 18. Students will take the test during their English, Math or Physical Science classes. Testing Schedule

Romeo & Juliet Field Trip - Oct. 5

On Thursday, October 5 freshman students are invited to the Guthrie to watch a professional performance of Romeo & Juliet. Project Success sponsors this free trip for all 9th graders. Students will start coming home with permission slips from their English teachers in the next week (if they have not already). Please make sure to sign and return this form as soon as possible. PSAT Test Registration for Sophomores and Juniors

Attention: Sophomore and Junior Students & Parents! On Wednesday, October 11, 2017, the PSAT is being offered at Washburn High School for students in 10th and 11th grade. Registration is now closed as we have sold out of tests.

Students who are taking the test will be excused for periods 1-4.  Students can get a permission slip from the Media Center to be excused for periods 5 & 6. (Please return by Friday, October 6).

Senior College & Financial Aid Night - 9/21/17 @ 6:00-7:30pm

This evening is designed for Seniors and their families to provide valuable information on the college application timelines, process, FAFSA, and answer questions.
