I have been an ESL teacher in Minneapolis since 1997. I have taught at Folwell, Green Central, Edison, and this is my first year at Washburn.
I received my ESL License from Hamline University. I also have a BA and a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota. Currently, I am working on another masters in Literacy at Bethel University. I speak French and have been studying Spanish for the past few years.
When I am not teaching or studying, I enjoy doing outdoor activities with my son and daughter, reading, cooking and traveling. We spent time this summer on the beach in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and at the lake in Northern Minnesota.
I teach from the belief in effort-based intelligence -- that is, people get smarter through effort.
People are, to a large extent, in charge of their own intelligence. --Carol Dweck
