Ofrenda Project
Ofrenda sample 2

This fall Washburn's Studio Art and Spanish for Spanish Speakers classes are collaborating with the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA) to create ofrendas as part of the Young People's Ofrenda Project. This project inspires students to explore art and traditions of Mexico's Day of the Dead, then create their own personal ofrenda to honor friends, family, pets, and community members who have passed away.

A selection of ofrendas will be displayed and on view at the MIA beginning November 4th. Many other ofrendas will be on display for Washburn's fall musical Dracula beginning November 7th.
