WELCOME TO OUR NEW PARENT LIAISON!
For the 2015-2016 school year we welcome a new Parent Liaison, Erica Lebens-Englund.  A huge thank you to Rebecca Felland-Syring for all of her great work over the last two years!  She will be missed but we’re hoping to still see her around.

A note from our new liaison…

Hi, I’m Erica Lebens-Englund.  I’m so excited to be your new parent Liaison at Washburn.  I’m looking forward to my professional role here, but also my role as a new Washburn parent.  I have an incoming Freshman and another at student at Field.  We are relatively new to the Twin Cities area, having moved here just one year ago from Spokane, WA.  We have loved getting to know the area and taking advantage of all the wonderful activities happening here.  Most specifically, we have loved biking, getting involved with soccer, visiting the lakes, and enjoying area music.  We survived our first winter and are working on fighting off those mosquitos!  But all joking aside, we are thrilled to have chosen a house in this area.  Great neighbors, great schools, and a great community!

My passion is public education.  I was a teacher and social worker in Washington and loved my 11 years in the classroom working with students and families.  Building relationships with families was one of my favorite parts of the job.  So the chance to work with Washburn families in this role is a great opportunity for me. The most successful schools have engaged families working collaboratively with a talented staff for the goal of helping students achieve their greatest academic outcomes. Active parents make a huge difference here at Washburn. Please make sure you’re on the volunteer contact list and receiving newsletters by clicking on the links below.  Also, please feel free to contact me anytime if I can be of help to you.  My goal is to find ways for all parents to feel involved at Washburn.  I'm looking forward to meeting many of you this year!
