I have been teaching at Washburn High School since 2010!

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree at UW-Madison.  I majored in Scandinavian Studies and Women's Studies.  I received my ESL teaching license from Hamline University.  I am currently working toward my Masters Degree in ESL at Hamline University.  

I love teaching at Washburn because the diversity of students is so invigorating.  As an ESL teacher, I have the opportunity to collaborate with Social Studies teachers.  I am in the classroom and I am able to provide instruction and support for the English Language Learners and the Native English speakers in the classroom.  The opportunity to work with the other staff has been empowering and a great opportunity for learning at Washburn!

In addition, I teach beginning level English Language Learners.  I teach English and Math.  Both classes have a concentration on Academic Language, so that the students will be prepared when they enter mainstream English and Math classes.
