About Mr. Abdal-Sabur, Science

For the 2018-2019 school year I will be teaching 4 sections of Honors Chemistry and 1 section of Chemistry . I have a B.A.(History) from Amherst College, a B.S.(Chemistry) from the University of Massachusetts, and a M.A.T. from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ.

I taught for 7 years at Martin Luther King Jr.-High School in New York City, and 5 years at Benjamin Banneker in Minneapolis before coming to Washburn. I have taught at Washburn since 1997.

I believe that every student that comes to me has the inherent ability to learn what I teach. It may take one student more time than another to learn the abstract principles of chemistry along with the math, but with help and personal motivation any student can learn what they need to know. My strength as a teacher is that besides being knowlegeable of my subject, I love being a part of the lives of the students I teach. I am patient, caring, and willing to help them in any way that I can. Please feel free to contact me for whatever reason. Email is the preferred mode of communication, but you can also call me after school, if necessary.
