Senior College Night 2019 -- 9/24/19 @ 6:00-8:00pm

Please join us for the Senior College and Financial Aid Night on September 24th from 6:00-8:00pm! The event will begin in the auditorium with a presentation on the college application timeline and process. There will then be breakout sessions including the FAFSA/MN Dream Act and CSS Profile, scholarships, the college transition, college essay writing, and more! Information will also be provided in Spanish and Somali

Homecoming 2019

Homecoming 2019 is coming!  The football game is on 9/27 @ 7:00pm and the dance will be on 9/28 @ 7:00-10:00pm at Washburn. Tickets are on sale Monday-Friday 9/23-9/27. Tickets are $15 each.  Tickets will only be sold during lunches in the scafeteria; cash only. You cannot buy tickets at the door. Enjoy the week by participating in the spirit days: Monday (PJ Day),  Tuesday (Twin Day), Wednesday (Denim Day), Thursday (Neon Day), Friday (Class Colors Day -- 9th White; 10th Orange, 11th Blue, 12th Black). 

Homecoming 101 

THEME:  "Country Western" [dressing up to match the theme is for Seniors Only]
DRESS ATTIRE:  9th-11th Grade students get dressed up; not Prom formal, but look your best!
PICTURES:  No professional pictures offered at the dance
[some students choose to participate in group pictures  before the dance: 9th/10th @ Rose Gardens & 11th/12th @ The Bandshell -- 6:00ish]
DATES:  Going with one date is not required; often the most fun is to come with a big group of friends
TICKETS: Tickets are sold for 1 week prior to the dance during all lunches. When students pay $15 they will be added to a guest list and will not receive an actual ticket. Their name HAS to be on the guest list by 9/27 in order to be admitted to the dance. STUDENTS CANNOT PAY MONEY AT THE DOOR! Student picture IDs are required for entrance. 
GUESTS: Due to our growing enrollement numbers, we only have a limited number of guest spots available. Forms in the main office. 
TIME: The dance is from 7:00-10:00pm; students must arrive by 8:00pm to be admitted (doors lock at 8:00pm and check-in closes; don't be late!)
COAT CHECK: We will be offering a coat/purse check. However, lines can be long. So be aware! No packpacks are allowed. 
FOOD: No outside food or drink allowed; we provide snacks and refreshments

Save by ordering a 2020 yearbook at early bird pricing by Novmber 1, 2019. Send your senior pictures, senior quotes and baby pictures to by December 16, 2019. WAHIAN stands for Washburn High Annual.

MAP Tests

MAP screening will begin for 9th grade students the week of September 16th. Reading will be on September 18 and 19 in their English 9 classes, with makeups on September 20. Math screening will take place on September 24 and 25 in physical science classes, with makeups on September 26.

PSAT Info for Sophomore and Junior Students & Parents

On Wednesday, October 30th, 2019, the PSAT will be offered at Washburn High School for students in 10th and 11th grade. The PSAT is a practice timed standardized test for students in these grades. 11th graders who score well enough are able to qualify for a National Merit Scholarship. 10th graders can use the test as practice for future standardized tests. The cost for each test is $20 for Washburn High School student. You will pay online using a credit/debit card or you can send a check to Total Registration. 11th grade students who qualify for free/reduced lunch are eligible for fee waivers. Students in the 10th and 11th grades can register online using Total Registration. (Please note: There will be no in-person registrations. Students must register using Total Registration.) Registration is open from September 9, 2019 through October 11, 2019. A late fee of $5 will be incured for any registrations after September 21, 2018. Pepfest Welcomes the Class of 2023

At the welcome week pepfest we welcomed the 9th graders in the class of 2023, and our new music teacher, Tim Buzza, and the Miller Voices taught everyone the school song, "Cheer for the orange and blue, waving forever..." - View in Google Photos - View on Facebook
