St. Olaf TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS)

St. Olaf TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS) is a federally-funded TRIO program offering college preparatory services to over 150 students annually in grades 9-12 at Washburn High School. St. Olaf TRIO ETS has been at Washburn since 1991. 

Funded by US Department of Education & St. Olaf College since 1991.

 Services and activities include:

•       Career Exploration

•       Financial Aid Information for College

•       College Exploration

•       Mentor Program

•       Tutoring

•       College Visits

Academic Advisors Rachel Enwright ( and Kitana Holland ( are

at Washburn on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You can find them in the College and Career Center (Room 107).

Additional TRIO ETS Activities:

The ETS Mentoring Program works with 1-3 freshman non honors English classes to help prepare and expose students to college. Each student is paired up with a current St. Olaf College student who serves as their mentor for the entire year. Students and mentors exchange weekly letters discussing college topics such as financial aid, studying abroad, choosing a major, etc. Students and mentors also meet face-to-face three times a year for the mentoring program field trips.
