Apply to participate in the Social Justice Fellows program!

Sophomores and juniors are invited to apply to participate in the MPS Social Justice Fellows program. Fellows will use their knowledge, skills and passion to positively impact their community now and in the future. Learn more and download the application:

The Social Justice Fellows Program is designed to:

1. Support the District’s vision of every child being college and career ready by exposing students to individuals, organizations and programs that will assist them in successfully applying to and graduating from college

2. Increase students’ social and political consciousness about civil rights issues of the past and today

3. Build a strong sense of cultural identity and self-confidence

4. Develop a pipeline of social justice/public policy leaders

5. Inspire college aspiration and exploration and promote a commitment to academic excellence

6. Provide student leadership and community service opportunities

Fellows have the opportunity to:

1. Attend classes and workshops taught by college professors, community leaders and MPS staff

2. Participate in a civil rights research tour of significant historical sites

3. Visit several colleges, including Historical Black Colleges and
Universities (HBCUs)
