IB Economics and Geography
Summer 2018
At Lake Superior in the summer of 2018

Welcome students and parents:

A little bit about me: I grew up in Milwaukee, WI a diehard Green Bay Packer fan. At Rufus King High School I took several IB classes like many of my students at Washburn including IB Theater, IB History, and IB English.  Luckily, I ended up earning a high-enough score in IB English to get college credit at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.  After studying history and Latin American Studies for several years, I graduated from the U of M in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts.

I served two years as an Americorps volunteer at Picacho Middle School in Las Cruces, NM and at Sumner Library in Minneapolis.  During that time I figured out that I wanted to pursue a career in teaching social studies.  I began my first teaching job in 2003 at Franklin Middle School and then came to Henry in the fall of 2005.  This is my first year at Washburn High School. I taught IB History from 2008 - 2018. While I have nearly ten years of experience teaching economics this will be my first year teaching IB Economics.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, walking, tennis, biking and binging on the latest Netflix series.  I love to spend time with my wife Kim, and our two kids, Sam and Max.
