I have taught at Washburn since 2015. I teach Drawing, Introduction to Art, Painting, and Studio Art.

I am a product of two worlds. I am from Chicago and have lived here in Minneapolis for some time now. I have a unique understanding of why students come to Minneapolis with their families for a better and safer life. They are seeking opportunities economically, socially, and educationally. What I remember about my first years here in Minneapolis is the reception and encouragement that I received when I arrived. My teachers at Marshall University High were the best. I thought that this is what a school should be. I want to become a teacher that welcomes, encourage, and provide a safe place for students to create and explore their potential.
