Exploding Pomegranate

I am so glad to be teaching Visual Arts at Washburn High School.  Prior to joining Minneapolis Public Schools in 2011 I taught Studio Art, Drawing and Painting and AP Art for eight years at a Public Magnet HIgh School in Chicago.

I graduated from Yale with a BA in Sociology with extensive coursework in Studio Art and I completed my Masters in Art Education degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  I am licensed to teach Visual Arts (K-12) in Minnesota.

In the 2020-21 school year, I am teaching IB SL Visual Art, IB HL1 Visual Art,  IB HL2 Visual Art and Painting 1. The easiest way to contact me is to use my MPS e-mail:

My own artwork is usually drawing and painting. Currently my artistic subject matter is often informed by a quirky sense of humor, my social values, and occasionally just what or who is sitting around the house.

it’s to imagine what is possible.” - bell hooks
