Lynnhurst Gives -- Support for Washburn and Justice Page Families

Washburn students

The global coronavirus pandemic, and the impact to many neighborhoods following the killing of George Floyd, have resulted in ongoing challenges for some families at Justice Page Middle School and Washburn High School. While Minneapolis Public Schools has been providing meals for children, the basic needs of many families are either not being met, or are still a painful, daily issue. We, as the Lynnhurst Neighborhood, are aware of the struggles for some of our neighborhood school families, who live throughout Minneapolis. We are asking for donations for these families, which can be distributed through the schools, as gift cards. This will allow them to purchase household goods, food, and necessities, to ensure that our students stay healthy and are supported as we enter a new school year. Please give what you can; your generosity is so critical, so valuable, and so appreciated.

The Lynnhurst Neighborhood Association (LYNAS) has donated $10,000 to the rebuilding of West Broadway Ave. in north Minneapolis and challenges the Lynnhurst neighborhood to raise the same amount for struggling Washburn and Justice Page families. LYNAS will make an additional donation to cover all processing fees -- 100% of your donation will go to the families.  You will receive an email receipt.

Note - LYNAS is listed as the "Benefiting Charity" because we are collecting the donations.   All the proceeds will go to the school families.
