MCA Math Testing Begins April 16

MCA testing

MCA Math: MCA math for 11th graders (juniors) is scheduled for the week of April 16. Students will test with their Social Studies classes and are scheduled for a block of 2-3 class periods. All 11th graders are expected to take the MCA Math unless they are enrolled full-time in PSEO classes. A detailed schedule is available under the Academics > Testing Information.

MCA Science: MCA math for all students enrolled in their life science credit (Biology or IB Bio) will test the week of April 30. Students will test with their Biology classes and are scheduled for a block of 2-3 periods. A detailed schedule will be available soon.

MCA Reading: Sophomores (10th graders) took the MCA reading before Spring Break.  Scores will be mailed home by MDE over the summer.

Students who score at the proficient level on the MCA Math and MCA Reading can use this test in lieu of a college placement exam at schools within the Minnesota State College and University system.

It is important to note that because of changes at the Minnesota Department of Education, any student who has returned a signed Parent Assessment Refusal form will count as “Not Proficient” when compiling Washburn’s MCA-based achievement levels. Any Parent Assessment Refusal form must be received the week prior to each test in order to be honored. If you have any questions about this change in MDE policy, please call the Research, Evaluation, Assessment, and Accountability office at the Davis Center: 612-668-0570.
