Miller Mart Grant

The Miller Mart is a school store open during lunch to sell snacks, drinks and spiritwear.  The Mart, also, sells spirit wear during big events like homecoming and 8th grade orientation and has an online store once per year in November.  A committee of parent volunteers, assistant principal Mr. Aziz and student representatives oversee the Mart.  Parent volunteers "work" in the Mart typically once per month for a 2.5 hour shift.  Parent volunteers do most of the administration of the Mart, including food and spirit wear purchasing, organizing, recruiting volunteers and financial aspects. The profits from the Mart are given back to clubs, activities and sports via a grant process.  Grant forms can be completed at any time during the school year and submitted to the committee for approval.  If possible, students should complete the grant form with approval then given by the adult coach or advisor.  Grants should focus on benefiting the entire team or club like softballs or fees to a competition, not be something like senior t-shirts.  Requests should be student focused since the funds are student funds.  The committee reviews all grant proposals and funds are distributed through Lara in the main office.  If you would like to volunteer, join the committee or apply for a grant, please contact Naomi Mechels at
