New Food Cards Available to Families

MN Dept of Heatlh image
P-EBT reminder from the Minnesota Department of Human Services...Hundreds of thousands of Minnesota children may be eligible for additional food benefits through P-EBT, short for Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer. To receive benefits as soon as possible, submit an Application for Educational Benefits. Eligible families will begin to be issued new P-EBT cards starting in late March. Check your email to learn more about your eligibility and how benefits will be distributed from the State of Minnesota. To be eligible, K-12 students must qualify for free or reduced-price meals and their school must also meet certain requirements. Students qualify for free or reduced-price meals in one of three ways:
  • Receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) or Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (Tribal TANF) benefits
  • Enrolled in a Community Eligibility Provision school
  • Approved for free or reduced-price school meals through the Application for Education Benefits at the child’s school.
