John Pemberton: Professional Dilettante
capture_2.PNG

With a flair for interior office decorating and a penchant for biking to work, John has quickly ascended the counseling ranks, from working out of a converted broom closet to a converted attendance office.  His Washburn highlights include the honor of the April 30th - May 4th, 2018 Staff of the Week award and winning the prestigious Male Staff Championship of Inflatable Jousting at the 2020 Winter pep fest.

His postsecondary academic journey began at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, where he majored in Psychology with an emphasis in Reverse Psychology.  Due to his love of gold and maroon, he went on to pursue his M.A. in School Counseling from that very same institution.  Though graduate school is now a distant memory, he retains his worldy knowledge thanks to completing daily crossword puzzles, staring at his unused dusty guitar, scaring his mom each year by going on backcountry ski trips, and visiting the occasional country.

Fun fact:  Even though John's room is littered with pictures of his adorable and handsome dog Maz (before you ask, he's 1/2 Weimeraner and 1/2 Chesepeake Bay Retriever), he does have a lovely wife and a newborn baby!
