Service Learning Trip 2018

"Empowering Children in the Dominican Republic"  Back by popular demand! Come be a part of the change and join Washburn on its 4th international service learning trip to...the Dominican Republic! This trip will take place in the summer of June 2018, but the planning and fundraising starts now! Participants on this tour will travel across the Dominican Republic, take a cultural journey into the local communities of the northern coast. While you're immersed in the local heritage, you'll gain insight into the issues impacting local children today. Working together with area non-profits and community members, you'll help build sustainable solutions to the educational, social, and economic challenges they face.

Each morning, travelers will begin the service project with children in a nearby village, spend afternoons immersed in cultural activities and evenings are a chance to reflect, discuss events as a group, and draw connections between the day's work and relevant global issues.

We have partnered with EF Educational Tours who is the world leader in international education with more than 1 million students experiencing their programs every year. EF's mission is to help teachers and students experience different cultures, navigate new languages and explore historic sites, all while developing the global perspective needed for success in today's interconnected world.  Get more info here!
